Terms of Service

Version tos-v1

These Terms are the agreement between you and MazelMeet for the app, website, waitlist, matchmaking, Shabbat Tables, and community events. By creating an account or using the service you accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community and Safety Guidelines. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What MazelMeet is

MazelMeet is a Jewish connection platform with four distinct lanes: marriage-intent matchmaking, dating, curated group dinners at restaurants or in members' homes (Shabbat Tables), and community events. It is not a swipe app. Suggestions, table groupings, and recommendations are introductions only. We do not guarantee a match, a date, a relationship, or a marriage.

The service is culturally focused on Jewish community life and is open to every adult of any religion or background. Membership is never conditioned on religion or any other protected characteristic.

You must be 18 or older

You must be at least 18 to use any part of the service, including the community lane and the waitlist. You agree to give an accurate date of birth, and we may require identity or age verification at any time. We offer no programming for minors, and an account found to belong to someone under 18 is terminated and its data deleted.

Your account and honest intent

You may hold one account, keep your information accurate, and never impersonate anyone or share your login. Sign-in is by phone verification code; Sign in with Apple or Google may also be offered.

The heart of MazelMeet is honest, separated intent. Declare the intent you truly hold, whether marriage, dating, friends, or community. You may hold several at once and change or pause them at any time, and honest changes are never penalized. Declaring a false intent to reach members in a lane you do not truly seek is a serious breach and may lead to suspension or removal.

Acceptable use and safety

Do not harass, threaten, stalk, or abuse anyone, post unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit content, expose another person's private information, misrepresent your identity or age in the romance lanes, solicit commercially, scrape the service, or keep contacting someone after they blocked you or asked you to stop.

We provide in-app reporting and blocking, human review, photo moderation before photos appear, and safety tips before a first conversation. We have zero tolerance for harassment, hate, threats, and sexual exploitation. Any content that sexualizes a minor, and any attempt to contact or exploit a minor, results in immediate removal, preservation of the evidence, and reporting to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement as required by law.

Shabbat Tables

Shabbat Tables are curated group dinners, and in every format MazelMeet is an introduction and curation service only. We suggest the guest list and help coordinate. We do not host, cook, cater, serve, supervise, or inspect any dinner, and we are not a party to any arrangement among attendees or between a host and guests.

At restaurant tables the venue alone is responsible for its premises, food safety, allergens, and kashrut status, and your seat fee is a curation and booking fee. A home table is a private gathering, not a MazelMeet event; hosts self-declare their kashrut level, which we do not verify, and a host's exact address is shared only with confirmed guests. You attend any table voluntarily and at your own risk, and to the fullest extent permitted by law you release MazelMeet from claims arising out of attendance.

Subscriptions, purchases, and refunds

Paid features include subscription tiers, matchmaking credit packs, gifts, restaurant seat fees, and event tickets, with prices shown before purchase. Digital purchases inside the app are processed by Apple or Google through RevenueCat and are governed by the store's terms; subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you cancel and request store refunds through your Apple or Google account.

Real-world items such as restaurant seat fees and event tickets are processed by Stripe, with refund terms shown at checkout. Nothing here removes a non-waivable refund or cancellation right you have under applicable law.

Content, AI, and your license to us

You keep ownership of your photos, bio, and interview answers, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, display to the intended audience, and moderate that content to operate the service. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content others already saw and kept, safety records, and backups awaiting their purge.

Parts of the service use artificial intelligence, including the shadchanit interview and match reasoning. An automated agent always identifies itself as AI and never pretends to be human. AI suggestions are recommendations, reviewed by a person before any match is delivered. How the AI processes your information is described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as is and as available, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, do not screen members' criminal backgrounds unless we say so, do not verify any host's home or kashrut declaration, and do not guarantee any match or outcome.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the service will not exceed the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Limits that the law does not allow do not apply.

Termination, governing law, and changes

You may delete your account at any time from the app, handled within a 30-day service level. We may suspend or remove an account for breach, a safety risk, fraud, or unlawful conduct, and where we reasonably can we will tell you why and offer a way to respond.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, subject to counsel's confirmation and the dispute-resolution clause to be added. When we make a material change we present the new version in the app and ask you to accept it before you continue, and we record the version, date, and language of your acceptance.
